Give an Hour for Earth
Join us as we create the Biggest Hour for Earth - switch off your lights and spend 60 minutes doing something positive for our planet!
Don't know where to start? Read on for a few ideas of what you can do!
I want to:
Learn more about our planet
A little extra knowledge can go a long way - awareness is after all the first step before action. So spend the Hour deepening your understanding of our planet, the threats we face, and what you can do to help!
Reconnect with our planet
Spending time in nature is one of the best ways to appreciate our planet and be inspired to protect it - so embark outdoors with your friends and family!
Want to stay inside? We've got a few ideas for you too!
The safety of our supporters is our priority, so when heading outdoors - especially at night - we recommend going with at least one other person. If you plan on heading out by yourself, be sure to let a friend or family member know where you will be going and what time you’ll be back.
Restore our planet
Break a sweat and get your hands dirty for sixty minutes to keep our planet clean and green! Feel good, do good - it's a win-win. Need some inspiration? Read on.
Inspire others to care for our planet
Earth Hour has always been powered by the people - and you don’t need to be a Greta Thunberg or David Attenborough to inspire others to act. So whether it starts with your significant other, your children, or your community, you are playing a crucial role in getting 8 billion people to care about our planet!

Go around your neighborhood pick up and trash you see
Keep an eye out for items that can be recycled - plastic, metal, and paper are common - and place them in the correct recycling bins!

Sort your trash at home! Separate recyclable items into different bins.

Look through your wardrobe to find clothes you don't wear often
Then set them aside for donation! Even if you don't end up donating anything, having a thorough look at your wardrobe can help you rediscover unused clothes, lessening the need (and want 😅) to buy new items!

Give a donation
Don’t feel like getting sweaty? Play a part in restoring our planet by donating to your local WWF office or environmental organization.

Find your nearest green space - a nearby park, river, forest, or beach - pick up any trash you see.
Why not grab a few friends and make it a clean-up competition! See who can pick up the most trash, and the loser has to cook up a sustainable dinner for the rest!

Learn & cook up a sustainable dinner
How we produce and consume food is the biggest driver of nature loss today. Being more conscious about the food you put on your plate is therefore one of the best ways to help restore our planet!

Volunteer at a local nature protection or restoration initiative (e.g. tree planting, river clean-ups, etc)
