❗ In view of the ongoing health crisis as a result of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, the Earth Hour global organising team is recommending all event organisers to participate in Earth Hour digitally this year. There are still many ways to take part online or at home and show your support for the planet on and around the Hour.
If you are still considering organizing a community event, please closely follow national health guidelines on attending or hosting public events and make a decision based on the advice provided by your Ministry of Health.
If you have previously submitted an event listing to our public directory and wish to cancel the event, please email us at email@example.com with the subject line “Cancelling public event” and a screenshot of the event listing on our directory page you wish to remove.
Earth Hour has always been a people-led movement. The well-being and health of our supporters and staff is our top priority. We stand in solidarity and support of our global communities and encourage all participants to take part in Earth Hour safely.
While waiting for the event to start (or during the event itself), encourage your guests to sign our Voice for the Planet petition to let world leaders know that they care about nature and demand urgent political action to protect our planet.
The Voice petition will be presented during key global conferences in 2020.
Any events organized must be conducted in the name of the organizer and is the sole responsibility of the organizer. The organizer must make clear in all dealings with the public, sponsors and supporters that they are not acting on behalf of WWF. The organizer verifies that they are in compliance with all relevant legislation for organizing public events, apply for any permits and authorities that may be required. The organizer acknowledges that they are aware of the risks involved and voluntarily agree to assume those risks.
