The walk which started on January 18, 2014 goes through Nigeria, Niger, Mali, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo and Benin Republic, to create awareness on climate change and environmental sustainability issues amongst youth.
Oludotun organised the first Earth Hour project in Nigeria - a 5km walk with 100 participants (half of whom were school children). It all started in 2010, when he first proposed a campaign to create awareness on climate change and sustainability. He thought the project could be promoted by leveraging on a global event. And since Earth Hour shares the same environmental objectives, he hit the ground running with Earth Hour Nigeria and #WalkToMali in 2011. In the 3 years since, Earth Hour Nigeria has reached more than 30 million people.
That's why, Oludotun Babayemi is an Earth Hour Everyday Superhero.
