Croatia joined the Earth Hour movement in 2009. The program was organized in Croatia's capital city, Zagreb. A few years later, in 2014, Croatia is counting almost 60 cities taking part in Earth Hour, switching off the lights of its most famous landmarks!

The next Earth Hour will take place on Saturday 28 March at the well-known time: 20:30 h.

Citizens all over Croatia have accepted this global initiative and started to organize their own celebrations and events, putting focus on nature protection, ecology and climate change!

Many Croatian celebrities have become ambassadors of the Earth Hour in Croatia, spreading the word of our planet across the country! It is really something special to see Dubrovnik city walls, Diocletian's Palace in Split, Water Tower in Vukovar, Citadel in Osijek and many more Croatian cultural symbols in the dark!
