Bogota - 8pm March 29, 2008

In Bogota, Colombia, WWF and Corferias (the largest expo center in Bogota), partnered to promote Earth Hour during the 3 days of the first “International Fair of the Environment”, and had a symbolic event, turning off the lights, at the closing ceremony of the fair on March 29 at 8:00 pm.
The Major of the city, Samuel Moreno Rojas, committed to turn off the lights of several icons, such as the Plaza the Bolivar, and the Major’s District Administrative Center, and he also invited his collaborators as well as other organizations to participate.
At national level, the Earth Hour campaign was being supported by the National Environmental Police, Publik Informers, Asocars, ICRI Colombia, the Movement of Environmental Activists – MAA, the Colombian Council for Sustainable Construction (Colombia GBC) and the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development, whom have agreed to promote and help create awareness about the campaign.
