Canada's own City of Toronto was the first city to sign-up to Earth Hour in 2008 after the success of the first year in Sydney, Australia. It wasn't long before over 400 cities in 35 countries quickly followed suit making it a truly global movement. Since then, Canada has embraced the spirit of this celebration engaging 15 million Canadians year over year. For us at WWF-Canada, Earth Hour is a bit like an environmental New Year, providing us with a chance to reflect on how our planet is faring and what we can do to help. In 2012 millions of Canadians will come together again on Saturday March 31 between 8:30 PM – 9:30 PM.
