Earth Hour Header 2014

Earth Hour is not just a lights out event. Many countries are using the universal language of music to celebrate Earth Hour 2013, and spread the message of protecting the planet.
WWF Malaysia is holding a Band Contest for amateur musicians to come up with their own original songs and share the green message. The finalists will battle it out for the RM2,500 cash prize at the Earth Hour Malaysia event. Malaysian band, Kyoto Protocol, will close the main event with their grand finale performance. An Earth Hour album is also being produced and will feature local Malaysian bands and Earth Hour 2013 Band Contest participants.
Danish singer-songwriter Erann DD and rapper Shaka Loveless will be performing at Denmark’s Earth Hour 2013 concert. They are also inspiring fans to go beyond the hour with I Will If You Will challenges. Shaka Loveless will let fans decide two of the songs he will sing at the Earth Hour concert if 130 Danes wash their clothes at 30 degrees. While Erann DD will drive 345 km from Copenhagen to Skagen if he can get 100 Danes to try an electric car.

The Earthman Project – a non-profit organization in the US that teaches kids about the importance of preserving natural resources – has also gotten into the spirit of things with a music video for their Earth Hour song.
Listening to music has been listed as one of WWF UK’s 60 Things To Do In The Dark during Earth Hour, so why not go one step further by creating an Earth Hour playlist? We’re pretty sure songs like 5ive’s When the Lights Go Out were written for occasions like this.
Whether you're at a concert in Toronto or dancing in the dark at home, it is truly spectacular how people come together to show their love for the planet at Earth Hour.
