Earth Hour Header 2014

Former President of Botswana, Mr Festus Mogae has promised to plant one million indigenous trees over a four years, as part of his I Will If You Will challenge for Earth 2013.
He will kick off his incredible IWIYW challenge by planting 100,000 trees in a severely degraded area in Southern part of the country called Goodhope. The remaining trees will be planted in other parts of the country which are also in need of land rehabilitation, such as in the North Eastern and Western part of Botswana.
Mr Mogae’s One Million Trees – Plant for Life campaign urges his fellow Batswana to be good stewards of the environment by protecting the country’s biodiversity against degradation and deforestation. His campaign has already inspired private companies and government institutions, which support his efforts to raise awareness on climate change.
This is one of Earth Hour’s most epic IWIYW challenges yet, the last being the half a million trees which are being planted in The Earth Hour Forest in Uganda.
In Botswana, 1.2 million people, businesses, and schools across the country are expected take a stand against global warming and climate change, by participating in Earth Hour by turning of their lights on March 23, 8:30PM.
