As the Earth Hour global community continues to grow, it's important we add our collective voice to help protect the parts of the planet that need it most.
The island of Borneo is one of the most biologically diverse habitats on earth, however the forests are being rapidly cleared for commercial uses, including rubber, palm oil and wood production. The threats posed by logging and land clearing for agriculture are made even worse by a growing illegal wildlife trade.
The Heart of Borneo can avoid the deforestation that has devastated the neighboring island of Sumatra over the past 20 years.
More than 1000 people have already added their voice to the SaveHoB Facebook app to help save the forests of Borneo.
Our team on the ground needs a global voice to back their work to protect the 220,000 km2 Heart of Borneo, and to create a network of protected areas and sustainably-managed rainforests.
We want to hit 12,000 pledges by March 23 for Earth Hour, and you can help by signing up to the app to add your voice. We need fewer than 11,000 voices to complete the target.
